We continue to make significant improvements to the core ChannelOnline product, and are focused on delivering new service and functionality offerings that will meet our customers evolving needs. On April 11, 2008, CNET Channel released several enhancements to our ChannelOnline 4.9 version.
These key enhancements include:
We are excited to provide our customers with more control of the messaging on their StoreSites. Through the StoreSite administration you can now control two new custom HTML fields, one on the login page and the other on the home page. Use these fields to target greetings or marketing messages to specific store users. We have also added the ability to create global text messages that can be displayed across all of a reseller’s StoreSites to post season's greetings, warn of outages or special offers. This is controlled via your company settings.
The "Forgot password" text information is now editable and can contain a link if desired.
A Home tab has been added to all StoreSites that have activated either home page HTML messages, global messages or featured products and spotlights. This is the default entry page for all customers. If this page is not active customers will still be routed to the products page.
What was called "Sales Assistant" is now called "Ask Sales". We have also updated the form that your customers submit. Changes include the ability to set message priority and copy the message to other email addresses and the incorporation of a large text entry field for the creation of the body of the message.
In order to provide more variety in StoreSite layout, we have added the ability to place the search bar in the header. With this functionality comes that ability to turn off the "Advanced Search Options" that appear at the right of the search button. We have also renamed the "Expert Search" button to simply read "Search".
We have modified "External Links" to allow you to choose to display the URL destination in the same window, rather than only in a new window, and have renamed the functionality "Additional Links".
You now have the option to hide product availability and the number of products in stock on the StoreSite.
As part of the expansion of the number of reporting variables, we have added the ability to run reports based on the last time a user has logged into the system. This is useful in gauging customer’s site activity.
This feature can be used to set an expiration period for all quotes for all customers in ChannelOnline. To activate this feature you must select the "Enable Expiration Date" box and enter the number of days until you want the document to expire into the text field that is located within the company settings.
Save Cart for Later replaces Save as Quote in the shopping cart on the storesite. Customers will have access to their saved carts through the account activity tab. You will also still be able to modify the cart and convert it into an approved quote for the customer.
You now have the ability to assign multiple Customer #s within the application. These are entered into the Customer # field and are separated by a comma; you may enter as many as you need. This can be used to link IDs from different systems together in one place.
